So for as long as I can remember, I have gone out the day after Thanksgiving I have gone shopping on Black Friday. The last few years I have been taking Lauren and Brooke with me and teaching them the rules. 1 of all you have to plan what stores to go to first to when they open. 2 know what you are looking for and where it is. 3 bring the ad in with you, its the list of everything you need to get in the store with the prices. 4 I think the most important rule. No shopping carts. There are too many people to try and navigate a shopping cart. I like to get what I came in for and get on to the next store. Not a fan of long lines. We successfully did this got most of what we were looking for, and only stood in line for a little over a total of 1 hour at 3 stores.
I do have to say that I do Not like the store sales beginning at 10pm on the thanksgiving holiday. Usually its cold in the morning when you first get out there, but it eventually warms up as the day goes on. When you get out at 10, to start shopping it gets colder as the night goes on. Did not like this. At 4 am when we were at the last store waiting in line I realized it was going to be a while before it got warm. Thank goodness for McDonalds warm hot chocolate! It was a fun all nighter, and we got lots of great deals!!
